Nowadays, in this prosperous era, Master Yang Songquan, a direct descendant of the great master Chen Zhaopi, has continued to ignite the torch of Tai Chi. Adhering to the philosophy that “Tai Chi is the way and promoting the way to cultivate righteousness”, he has been rooted in the capital for over three decades, imparting the art of Tai Chi from the common people to the high schools, and is also renowned throughout the capital!
In 1988, Master Yang Songquan was invited to Beijing to teach Tai Chi. He was the first person to teach Chenjiagou Tai Chi in Beijing after Mr. Chen Zhaopi and Mr. Chen Fakuo.

On March 12, 1995, Master Yang Songquan officially established the Beijing Chenjiagou Tai Chi Training Center. Based in Beijing and facing the world, we impart the authentic and original Chenjiagou Tai Chi. In the same year, the Beijing Chenjiagou Tai Chi Association was founded.

In 2011, Master Yang Songquan taught the Chen family’s Old Tai Chi to Peking University. In the same year, he established the Peking University Tai Chi Songquan Team, practicing the concept of the former president of Peking University that “a complete personality starts with sports”, and has played a significant role in the inheritance and protection of Tai Chi, a precious intangible cultural heritage of mankind.

Master Yang Songquan has always followed the traditional Chinese master-apprentice approach in his training of disciples, imparting knowledge through words and deeds, oral instruction and personal guidance, and honing his skills over ten years.
In 2018, the master established the Tai Chi Songquan Team, aiming to cultivate outstanding Tai Chi masters, to establish the mind of heaven and earth, to secure the destiny of the people, and to carry on the lost learning of the sages.

In 2018Master Yang Songquan passed on the Chen family’s Old Tai Chi to the Capital Airport Customs and established the Capital Airport Customs Tai Chi Association in the same year.

As the 11th generation inheritor of Chenjiagou Tai Chi, Master Yang Songquan has always kept his roots in mind and cared about his hometown. He has led his disciples back to their hometowns many times to pay homage to their ancestors. His sincere heart is witnessed by heaven and earth.

Master Yang Songquan, born in 1951, is the 11th generation inheritor of Chen-style Tai Chi. He is the eldest grandson of Chen Gong Zhaopi and also the main inheritor of Master Chen Zhaopi’s lineage. At the age of four, he received oral instruction and meticulous guidance from Master Chen Zhaopi. By the age of seven, he/she had already mastered profound childhood skills. At the age of fourteen, he had fully mastered the ancestral Chen-style Tai Chi practice methods and assisted Master Chen Zhaopi in teaching Tai Chi. Under the long-term guidance and personal example of his grandfather, Master Chen Zhaopi, and through his influence, Mr. Yang Songquan has fully inherited the unique art of Chinese Tai Chi, carried forward the will of his master, and promoted the treasures of Tai Chi.
