On the Dragon Boat Festival, I miss Master Songquan

On June 10, 2024, the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, which was the first birthday of our master, Mr. Yang Songquan, after his passing, all the disciples of our master gathered at the Xianger Hutong Dojo. Led by our senior sister, Yang Junfeng, we offered incense and kowtowed to our master, expressing our remembrance and gratitude. After the worship was over, a butterfly fluttered over and danced in the small courtyard. The solemn hearts just now were instantly inspired. Everyone came to the courtyard to push their hands and exchange skills, and reported their insights and experiences from practicing and teaching martial arts for more than half a year with practical actions to the master.

In the small courtyard, the rose flowers carefully nurtured by the master are blooming in the summer sun. The kind smile of the master emerged before my eyes and the gentle words of the master rang in my ears. The master said that practicing boxing is like an old lady’s embroidery needle, threading the needle and thread to embroider a huge flower. Above the small courtyard, white clouds float leisurely, still as leisurely as when the master was around. It seems that the master’s peaceful and serene atmosphere has long been integrated into our lives, urging us to learn and approach it throughout our lives.
