Taiji Songquan· Promote the Dao and cultivate righteousness
It began in 1988
Question: Master, what is “he”? What does it feel like to be together?
Master: “Unity means oneness. There is opening within unity and unity within opening. One needs to practice gradually.”
Question: Master, sometimes it seems that I know my body can’t do it?
Master: If you know you can’t do it, then you still don’t know. Only when you know and can do it can you truly know.
Question: Master, can you understand the forward and reverse winding of wires in this way? Is it like fixing one end of a towel, twisting it hard makes it smooth, but loosening it makes it reverse?
Master: You’re only half right. When you apply force, it’s going forward. When you apply force against it, you not only need to loosen but also apply force in the opposite direction.
Q: That’s really quite difficult.
Master: It’s indeed very difficult. You have to practice consciously and slowly like this. You have to practice in the right way.
Master, in boxing, one person is like two, and in pushing hands, two people are like one. What is the relationship between the two here? Is it guidance, confrontation, or?
Master: The two are by no means against each other. When it comes to boxing, one is like two different people. You just hit the punch however it tells you, without any sense of self. The two pushed hands as if they were the same. They were discussing the Dao, not opposing. One of them joined, and the other opened. It was purely natural. There was no confrontation, no fighting.
Question: Recently, while practicing boxing, I’ve been constantly thinking about this issue and have some doubts, so I’d like to ask for your advice.
Master: That’s right. You can’t just practice boxing. You must think and achieve enlightenment.
