Taiji Songquan· Promote the Dao and cultivate righteousness
A time-honored brand established in 1988
For Tai Chi practitioners, the days of home quarantine are not boring. Practicing Tai Chi not only makes the gloomy days shine brightly but also enhances one’s immunity and builds up positive energy. This is the good state that every Tai Chi practitioner should be in.

Mr. Li Fucheng, a student of the advanced Tai Chi class, composed a poem to share his feelings about practicing Tai Chi at home during the epidemic:
Tai Chi Against the Epidemic
The two sides of the courtyard are flat, a place where oxen lie down.
While there is a fierce epidemic outside, I have Tai Chi.
Seventy-six postures, start at half an hour
Upright, upright and relaxed, performing martial arts to express one’s feelings
Sweat is like drops of water, and the breath surges in the chest.
How delightful it is! How refreshing it is!
How delightful the epidemic is! How magnificent the fight against it is!
How happy I am! How blessed my people are!
Written by Li Fucheng on February 13, 2020, that dayIt’s the fourth day of home quarantine and my condition is normal. In response to the suggestion of Academician Zhong Nanshan, I have been practicing Chen-style old-frame Tai Chi and pushing hands every day. I composed this poem to record it.
Master Yang Songquan highly praised this and replied with a poem:
Tai Chi Zhenren is highly enthusiastic.
Those who abide by laws and regulations are called heroes.
Practicing Tai Chi in the place where oxen lie down
It was originally intended to contribute to the country.

Insights on Learning Boxing
Li Fucheng
Here I share my insights on learning boxing as follows: There is a time to learn boxing, but there is persistence in learning boxing, it is fun to learn boxing, there are ways to learn boxing, and there are gains from learning boxing.
There is a time to learn boxing. With the opening of the new zero-basis class following the trial class, it also marks that I have been learning boxing under Teacher Yang Songquan for nearly four years. At present, I practice boxing for an hour every day. I just feel that the time is limited and I can’t practice more. I also feel that my master is not by my side and I can’t give more guidance.
There is perseverance in learning martial arts. It’s easy to be interested in Tai Chi, but not easy to stick to it. Once one persists, it’s hard to give up, because one truly feels the changes and joy brought by practicing boxing. This is the principle for all things.
Learning boxing is interesting. Leaving aside other things, martial arts are a very enjoyable form of social interaction. When a few close friends get together, they talk about martial arts in a few words, and show off their moves and postures. Isn’t that delightful?
There is a way to learn boxing. There is one class every weekend, lasting for one and a half hours. For the rest of the time, I mainly rely on my own persistent practice. If one can persist for a full year during the initial learning stage, it is considered that one has passed a stage that is very easy to give up. During the class, first, the disciples of Teacher Yang Songquan lead the students to review the learned movements. Second, Teacher Yang personally teaches the new movements. Third, Teacher Yang imparts boxing and mental techniques and interacts with the students. Because all the learned movements need to be reviewed in class every week, a solid foundation can be laid.
Learning boxing is rewarding. First, after getting into the habit of practicing boxing, I have never felt physically exhausted. Even when I am sleepy, I feel relaxed all over. Second, wherever you go, you can have a round of boxing as long as there is a place for the ox to lie down, without being restricted by the environment or weather. Thirdly, there is a group of Tai Chi enthusiasts here. They come together every week. They learn the art together and each has their own Tai Chi world. When they come, they have thoughts; when they leave, they have no worries. Over the past four years, they rarely know each other’s names or affiliations. Maybe it’s just a kind of friendship as simple as water, a kind of gentleman’s friendship, very relaxing.
Note: This article was written in March 2019. The new Tai Chi class of Teacher Yang Songquan is about to start. With this article, I would like to recommend the traditional health-preserving Tai Chi – Chenjiagou Tai Chi to all my friends.
