The new beginner class of the Chen Family’s old Taiji will start on September 7th

Taiji Songquan· Promote the Dao and cultivate righteousness

It began in 1988

September 2024New beginner class

Tai Chi, based on the principle of Taiji, follows the principles of Yin and Yang, movement and stillness, and captures the subtlety of the transformation between the void and the solid. Those who practice it can strengthen their muscles and bones, harmonize their qi and blood, strengthen the five internal organs, cultivate their body and mind, and cure diseases and prolong life. It is truly the great way of health preservation.

Master Yang Songquan, the founder of Beijing Chenjiagou Tai Chi Training Center, learned from his grandfather, Master Chen Zhaopi. His Tai Chi forms have not been modified in any way and are the original Taiji passed down by the elderly in Chenjiagou. They have a genuine origin and are the superior form of Tai Chi learning. They are also a precious international intangible cultural heritage.

This beginner’s class is taught by Yang Junfeng, the head coach of the training center and the daughter of Master Yang Songquan.

Head Coach Yang Junfeng

Coach Yang Junfeng, the 12th generation inheritor of Chen-style Tai Chi, was born in Beijing in 1999. Currently, he serves as the chief coach of the Beijing Chenjiagou Tai Chi Training Center. Since childhood, he has been practicing traditional Chen-style Tai Chi, Taiji push hands, and ancestral routines such as sword, spear, sword, and staff under the guidance of his father, Master Yang Songquan. He has won numerous awards in national Tai Chi competitions. Since childhood, I have followed my father to teach Tai Chi techniques at multiple training locations. During my study in the UK, I also taught foreign students, accumulating rich bilingual teaching experience. I have been invited several times to perform Chen-style Tai Chi and its weapons at cultural exchange activities organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Head Coach Yang Junfeng’s boxing form is elegant and graceful, his body posture is upright, and his movements are clear. He truly embodies the essence of traditional Taiji, which combines hardness and softness, and is characterized by relaxation, depth, roundness, and flexibility.
